Lisa Ray’s New Film Releases

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- The fans of the Canadian born actor Lisa Ray will get to see her in a new film that has been directed by filmmaker Dilip Mehta. The actress who is a victim of a form of cancer known as Multiple Myeloma is waiting for the release of the film ‘Cooking With Stella’. The IFFLA or Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles organizers revealed that they will inaugurate the festival with this film on April 20th. The film has Deepa Mehta as the producer. The ace director has worked with Lisa Ray in several of her films. After Lisa Ray made her Bollywood debut with the suspense thriller ‘Kasoor’ in 2001 she was observed by the director who gave her a role in ‘Bollywood Hollywood’, a comic caper. Lisa Ray also acted in ‘Water’, a movie that was nominated for the Academy Awards. It was also directed by Deepa Mehta.

Lisa Ray will be present at the inauguration ceremony of the IFFLA. ‘Cooking with Stella’ is a urban comedy that features a cook employed at the Canadian High Commission who uses the position to run an import business. Lisa Ray plays the role of a Canadian diplomat who is posted in New Delhi with her baby and husband. Shriya Saran also has an interesting role in the film and her entry adds twist to the plot.

The role of the cook Stella is being played by Seema Biswas who also acted with Lisa Ray in the critically acclaimed ‘Water’. The movie will be released both in Hindi and English and will have subtitles.
