LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- Former ‘Desperate Housewives’ star Nicollette Sheridan is creating quite a stir lately as the much acclaimed actress has filed a lawsuit against the creator of the popular show for assaulting her as well ending her contract in a wrongful manner. In a lawsuit that has been filed at the Los Angeles Superior Court, the 46 year old actress has sued Mark Cherry, the creator of the comedy drama series for a whopping $20 million.

According to reports, the lawyers of Nicollette Sheridan have contended in the lawsuit that the actress was hit by Mark Cherry in the month of September in 2008 after she supposedly wanted to clear a point about the script of the show. Moreover, it has also been alleged that after she brought the matter to the notice of the ABC network, Mark Cherry took all the necessary steps to ensure that the actress was fired from the series and her contract was terminated. At the same time, it has also been highlighted in the lawsuit that the creator of the show was responsible for behaving with the other cast members in a hostile fashion while making the working environment rather adverse. However, it has also been stated that Mark Cherry indeed apologized for his unwarranted behavior although Nicollette Sheridan’s character was killed in the fifth season of the hit comedy drama series.

Meanwhile, the ABC network has not made any comments about the legal actions taken by Nicollette Sheridan. At the same time, the main accused Mark Cherry has also not been available for any kind of comments in the matter.
