Tyler Sings Anthem At Baseball Season Opener
By WENNMonday, April 5, 2010
AEROSMITH rocker STEVEN TYLER made his official return to public life on Sunday night (04Apr10) when he sang GOD BLESS AMERICA at the Boston Red Sox home baseball opener against the New York Yankees.
The hometown hero was joined by his daughter Chelsea as he belted out the anthem during the game’s seventh inning stretch.
It marked Tyler’s first stage appearance since checking out of rehab for an addiction to painkillers.
The rocker’s problem-free performance is good news for Aerosmith fans in Europe and South America - the reformed supergroup will be heading to the two continents for dates this summer (10).
The rocker wasn’t the only superstar to take the field at Fenway Park - Neil Diamond was also there to sing the Red Sox’s Sweet Caroline anthem in between the eighth innings.
