PRATAPGARH - A local court here on Saturday summoned Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt in the case filed against him for making derogatory remarks against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati in a public rally during 2009 General Elections.

Pratapgarh Chief Judicial Magistrate Anirudh Kumar Tewari issued the summons asking Dutt to appear in the court on April 24.

Addressing a rally in favour of the Samajwadi Party, Dutt had offered “jadoo ki jhappi and pappi,” to Mayawati on the lines of his famous “Munna Bhai” role.

On March 18, the police filed a chargesheet against Dutt before the Chief Judicial Magistrate.

Dutt’s comments had infuriated Mayawati.

Dutt had later said he reserved the “pappi” for the people and would give only a “jhappi” to “sister” Mayawati.(ANI)
