“Pankh” Movie Releasing Today

MUMBAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Bollywood diva Bipasha Basu is back to scorch the silver screen with no less than 9 different looks in her latest movie ‘Pankh’ that is getting released in India today. It is not a run of the mill commercial potboiler by any means. Pankh, directed by Sudipto Chattopadhyay deals with the story of a boy who grows up under an overtly ambitious mother and suffers from identity crisis because of the way he is brought up. All the fans of the actress Bipasha Basu will again see her in a different role after the critically acclaimed ‘Corporate’ which won her rave reviews. In this film, the role of the protagonist is played by newcomer Maradona Rebello. It also has veteran actors like Ronit Roy, Lillette Dubey, Amit Purohit and also Mahesh Manjrekar.
The movie ‘Pankh’ is not meant for the fans of celluloid fairytale lovers who love watching soppy family dramas. It lays bare the depressing and disturbing tale of a boy whose childhood and adolescence is troubled by a sexual identity crisis. The film, has some so called controversial scenes including a back nudity sequence and a kiss between two men. However, the character played by Maradona Rebello is not reportedly gay but is just confused about himself. Bipasha Basu supposedly plays the role of his dream woman.
There are some sexual scenes in the movie ‘Pankh’ but they are not meant to titillate the viewers. On the contrary, they are an integral part of this film. The designer Rocky S has paid a lot of attention for designing the various costumes of Bipasha Basu in the film and she really looks stunning in her 9 onscreen avatars.
