‘Shaapit’ Movie Review Out Now

MUMBAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- After the box office hit ‘Raaz’ and the moderately successful ‘1920′, director Vikram Bhatt makes a comeback to his favorite horror genre with ‘Shaapit‘. The movie is getting released all over India today. The movie has been getting a lot of attention from the media since it marks the film debut of Shweta Agarwal and Aditya Narayan. The son of popular singer Udit Narayan signed this movie in 2008 and for the last one and a half year he was busy shooting and promoting the movie. The theme of the movie revolves around generational curse. The heroine of the movie bears a generational curse which prevents her from tying the knot and when she falls in love with a boy, the couple nearly dies from an accident. When her lover knows of this strange curse he vows to get his lover free from it. Rahul Dev also plays an important role in it.
Like every Vikram Bhatt directed movie, ‘Shaapit’ has a liberal dose of music and the director has stressed on sound effects to develop the atmosphere of eeriness and mystery throughout the movie. The director said in a recent interview that to give the movie an authentic look, he has used the Witches’ Alphabet known as Theban in it. He studied the language in detail to know the intricate details of it. The early reviews of the film are largely favorable though its box office fate cannot be predicted.
The reviews of the movie ‘Shaapit’ are generous and expectations from Aditya Narayan are high as it is his first movie. The youngster is confident and thinks it will launch his career in Bollywood.
