Alex Chilton Passes Away

NEW ORLEANS (GaeaTimes.com)- Guitarist Alex Chilton of “Box Tops” and “Big Star” fame died on Wednesday after complaining of heart problem. The news has been confirmed by John Fry, the owner of the Ardent Studios who is a close friend of Alex Chilton. The star guitarist Alex Chilton died at a hospital in New Orleans where he was brought on Wednesday. According to reports, Alex Chilton died of a sudden heart attack.
John Fry mentioned that the sudden death has devastated Alex Chilton’s wife Laura. The death of her husband was not expected by her, as the guitarist was doing well and was scheduled to perform live this week. Alex Chilton according to John Fry, was not only interested in pop music but in many other genres of music.
Alex Chilton was not only a guitarist but also a songwriter, singer and producer. He had delivered some of the best music scores which have remained popular among the music listener for a long time. The 59 year old Alex Chilton was scheduled to perform on Mar 20, Saturday along with the “Big Star” in The South by Southwest music festival. The music festival is scheduled to be held at Austin, Texas. On Wednesday, the creative director of the music festival Brent Gulke reportedly praised the deceased star for his extraordinary talent. Alex Chilton, according to Brent Gulke, was person whose songs demanded attention and led the listener to think, which Brent Gulke reportedly claimed is the caliber of a true artist. However, during his life time, the guitarist always tried to maintain a distance from fame.
