Actor/singer Grant Dies

Guyanese actor, singer and writer CY GRANT has died, aged 90.
Grant, best-known for his role on BBC’s The Tonight Show, died in London on Saturday (13Feb10), according to his daughter, Diana. Further details surrounding his death were not available as WENN went to press.
As a singer, he recorded five albums, and was best-known for his records King Cricket and The Constantine Calypso.
He also starred in award-winning British TV drama Home of the Brave in 1957 and The Encyclopaedist in 1961.
Grant, who became known as the first black person to appear regularly on British television, later created the Drum Arts Centre in London to support black artistic talent.
He is survived by his wife Dorith and four children.
