Friendly Fires Cancel Aussie Gigs

Organisers of an Australian music festival have been left reeling after British dance act FRIENDLY FIRES cancelled their appearance on the same day THE KILLERS pulled out.
The Mr Brightside hitmakers were due to perform at the Good Vibrations music festival in Sydney and Perth over the weekend (12-14Feb10).
But the rockers announced on Thursday (11Feb10) that they would be scrapping plans to appear at the event, along with several other Australian concerts, after a family member fell ill.
And now the festival has suffered another blow after Friendly Fires axed their performances, citing a “family emergency”.
The critically-acclaimed dance group has also pulled out of a planned Australian tour supporting Gossip.
A statement from the band reads, “Unfortunately we have had to cancel our trip to Australia because of a family emergency within the band. Heartfelt apologies to anyone who was looking forward to our shows, we hope we’ll have the chance to come and play for you all very soon.”
