LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- Watching the special episode “Smallville: Absolute Justice” was thrilling for the viewers who are a regular with the show on comic book hero Superman. According to various reviews on “Smallville: Absolute Justice,” the fans of the popular series were perhaps a little disappointed with the television version. The 2-hour special which premiered on Friday received mixed comments. Some found it too thrilling, while others were a little disappointed.

According to some reviews, “Smallville: Absolute Justice,” the episode was a combination of episodes 11 and 12 from the season which was originally titled, ‘Society’ and ‘Legends.’ According to some viewers, the beginning of the story had strong resemblance with the movie “Watchman,” specially the newsreel-style clips of the “Justice Society.” The story was full of references from the comic book. The story in spite of being thrilling to watch, had some loopholes. The worst among them was the lack of clarification of how Hawkman’s helmet stayed on.

The CW 2-hour special included Star Girl, Green Arrow, Icicle and J’onn J’onzz (The Martin Man hunter). The episode brought a variation to the series which is about Superman, Supergirl and Lex Luthor- all in a moderinzed setting and undergoing real, humanlike emotional turmoils. The show had various other heroes and villains. The special blended the two stories in a creative way. However, it probably could not create the desired impact. Geoff Johns, who penned down the special, was really hopeful about the episode. The mix of the original Smallville characters and new characters like Hawkman, Dr. Fate and star Spangled Kid appeared a little strange to many, according to reviews of “Smallville: Absolute Justice”.
