Cochin Haneefa Dead

CHENNAI, TAMIL NADU (GaeaTimes.com)- Much acclaimed actor Cochin Haneefa has died in a Chennai hospital after suffering from prolonged illness. The veteran actor, who was known to have starred in as many as 300 Malayalam movies, was 58 at the time of his death.
Cochin Haneefa had been suffering from chronic liver cancer for quite a few months now which ultimately resulted in his death. He had been admitted to a private hospital in Chennai some time back owing to liver related ailments. After battling with the condition for a few days now, the reputed comedian ultimately succumbed to multiple organ failure.
Sources have revealed that body of the veteran actor would be shifted to be his Chennai residence and it would be kept there till tomorrow so that all his fans can pay homage to their favorite artist. At the same time, it has also been added that the last rites of the actor would be carried out in his hometown Kochin on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the news that Cochin Haneefa is dead has come as a rude shock to all his fans as well as the Southern film industry. Large number of people are expected to visit his house and pay their last respects to the much loved character actor.
Cochin Haneefa, started his illustrious film career way back in the 1970’s and gradually established himself as one of the most successful comedy artists of the Malayalam movie industry. However, the actor is also known to have been associated with around 80 Tamil movies as well as few Hindi films. At the same time, Cochin Haneefa also earned a name for himself as a filmmaker in his career spanning across years.
