‘Kiwi women are unattractive, while men can’t dress’

WELLINGTON - A British fashion blogger has drawn frowns after declaring that he found women in New Zealand unattractive while men there love to dress badly.
Andrew Williams, a 33-year-old Londoner, made the claims in Men’s Flair after visiting the country over Christmas.
“I think if I lived there I would go off my rocker. Firstly, I didn’t see one attractive woman - other than the one I took with me. Secondly, and most importantly, Kiwi men are utterly unrepentant in their desire to dress badly. Indeed, they seem to revel in it,” the New Zealand Herald quoted him as saying.
Williams, who has a Kiwi girlfriend, further wrote: “It was as though the last forty years in male clothing and grooming hadn’t happened.”
Though Williams was quick to point out that he was no “definitive” authority on the subject, others seem less impressed with his ‘revelations’.
Francis Hooper, designer for Kiwi fashion label World, said:
“He’s comparing the guys walking around the beach in provincial New Zealand to the men he sees walking down Bond St in London. That’s pretty unfair.”
As for Williams’ opinion of New Zealand women, Hooper thought the blogger was “obviously an idiot”. (ANI)

I am an American who traveled to New Zealand on vacation on one occasion.I found New Zealand women to be, in general, very lady like, friendly, attractive, and well dressed. There is a definite “gentility” and “refinement” in bearing, dress, attitude, and speech amongst both the women and men of New Zealand, in my opinion.I respectfully disagree with the British fashion blogger. |
