This gentleman has acquired a place in the world of music with his self created tunes. Unfortunately, he is too old to be in Hollywood now. The number he sang was full of fun. It was peppy, catchy and humorous- getting everyone giggling and howling. The acoustic, mournful version got the judges rolling with laughter.
General Larry Platt’s audition in Atlanta for the season 9 of American Idol was really humorous. The Pants on the Ground original video has already become a smash hit, for which General Larry Platt will be remembered now. However, this 62-year-old has another caring side of him of which most of us are not aware of. He is a social activist. He was honored with a holiday in Atlanta, named as the Larry Platt Day in 2001 for “priceless and immeasurable contributions to society” and “his great energy and commitment to equality and the protection of the innocent and for his outstanding service to the Atlanta community and the citizens of Georgia.” According to a source, he got his nickname “General” from the respected civil rights leader, Hosea Williams, who was thoroughly moved by the bravery of General Larry Platt.
