Scarlett Johansson, Brangelina urge fans to help Haiti victims

WASHINGTON - In the wake of Haiti earthquake, celebrities have come forward urging fans to donate for the victims.

Stars including actress Scarlett Johansson, singer Wyclef Jean, Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are all doing their best to garner support.

“My heart goes out to the millions of people affected by the tragic events that have afflicted Haiti,” Fox News quoted Johansson, who is also Global Oxfam ambassador, as saying via her rep.

“As an ambassador of Oxfam, I urge those who are able to donate to the organization which currently has over 200 people on the ground and a team of 15 highly-experienced emergency specialists based in the capital that are responding with public health, water and sanitation services to prevent the spread of water borne disease,” she added.

Also, UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have promised to work closely with Haiti born Wyclef Jean for those left homeless in the tragedy.

Jolie’s fellow Goodwill ambassador Alyssa Milano asked for followers to on her Twitter page to donate to the Red Cross.

Oprah Winfrey too requested viewers of her talk show to donate to the Red Cross.
