Ed Balls hires rapper Kano to promote diplomas

LONDON - British rapper Kano is helping Ed Balls, the Education Secretary, promote the diploma, the British Government’s alternative to GCSEs and A-levels.
Kano, 24, has crooned a new track ‘More Than One Wa’y, which can be downloaded for free, where he talks about how education can help people in any situation.
The lyrics say: “my weapon is my pen,” reports the Telegraph.
The hip-hop artist has also come up with a video featuring members of his production team and diploma pupils from schools in Plaistow, east London, and Norwich.
Creative and media diploma students helped work in the video, hair and beauty students helped with make-up, and those studying construction pupils assisted in raising the set.
The number shows Kano walking through a crowd, greeting his production team whose diploma qualifications pop up in text bubbles above them.
Kano said he has tried to “inspire people, but not in a way that’s patronising and preachy”. (ANI)
