Paxton Has Big Plans For Twister Sequel

Actor BILL PAXTON is eager to make a sequel to TWISTER - 14 years after the tornado action film was released.
The star has taken a break from Hollywood in recent years to focus on his hit U.S. TV series Big Love, but he’s keen to relaunch himself as a movie star and is convinced a 3D version of Twister is the key.
He tells Bullz-Eye.com, “I always thought the first Twister was an exciting ride, but I thought a sequel could explore it in a more enthralling way, getting into more of the history and the lore, more of a darker version of the first one.”
Paxton, who starred as a storm chaser opposite Helen Hunt in the 1996 film, reveals he’s already pitched a new idea for a Twister follow-up to producer Kathleen Kennedy.
He adds, “Now we’re kind of waiting to see if that’s going to move forward. That would need Steven Spielberg’s blessing, ultimately, and they probably won’t take it to him ’til there’s real studio interest, but I think the 3D applications of that could obviously be pretty amazing.”
