Kennedy Center Honors 2009 Details

Washington D.C (GaeaTimes.com)- The 32nd Yearly Kennedy Center Honors was shown on Dec 29, 2009 on CBS. The ceremony took place on Dec 6, 2009. The President of USA, Barack Obama along with his spouse was present in the ceremony. As per the Kennedy Center Honors 2009 Details, Nancy Pelosi, the speaker and Vice president, Joe Biden were also present at the venue.

The actors and artists who were honored this year are jazz maestro Dave Brubeck, musician Grace Bumbry, producer Mel Brooks and stalwart actor Robert De Niro. Mel Brooks was given a tribute in the form of a medley consisting of songs from his Broadway shows and movies. Many of the attendees spoke at length about the skill and achievements of the legendary actor Robert De Nero. His co-stars like Edward Norton, Ben Stiller and ace actress Meryl Streep were full of praise for him.

Robert De Nero spoke about his career but said that nothing was pre-planned and he simply enjoyed his work. Meryl Streep, who holds a record for getting nominated for Academy Awards for the maximum time, said that Robert De Nero is like a gold standard. The ace actor also got plenty of admiration from Edward Norton at the Kennedy Center Honors 2009.

Robert De Nero recalled his association with maverick filmmaker Martin Scorsese. They have worked in 8 movies till date. Without getting into details it can be said that they are counted as some of the greatest movies of all times. Kennedy Center Honors 2009 ceremony was eventful with several stars of Broadway and Hollywood coming together.
