WASHINGTON - American actress Bijou Phillips has said it was “heartbreaking” that her family would leave her alone with her father-singer John Phillips despite knowing he was incestuous.
The ‘Havoc’ star revealed she knew about the consensual sex between her father, the leader of the 60’s group ‘The Mamas and the Papas’, and her half-sibling Mackenzie Phillips.
According to Bijou’s statement read by Oprah Winfrey on her talk show, the beauty was 13-years-old when Mackenzie confessed to her about the ten-year sexual relationship, reports Fox News.
Mackenzie said on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” that she did get her sister when she “felt like she wasn’t being watched properly.”
Mackenzie made the revelation about the incestuous relationship with her father in a new book ‘High on Arrival’, recalling her first sexual act with the parent on the night before her wedding.
She said: “On the eve of my [1979] wedding, my father showed up, determined to stop it. I had tons of pills, and Dad had tons of everything too. Eventually I passed out on Dad’s bed.
“My father was not a man with boundaries. He was full of love and he was sick with drugs. I woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having sex with my own father. Had this happened before? I didn’t know. All I can say is that it was the first time I was aware of it.” (ANI)
