Kitty Daisy and Lewis: music video

Kitty, Daisy & Lewis are the most talented three-piece band, each of them are multi-instrumentalists, they can play guitar, piano, banjo, lapsteel guitar, harmonica, double bass, ukulele, drums, trombone, xylophone and accordion. After a while, they also have included their dad (Graeme) on acoustic guitar and then later mum (Ingrid) on double bass.

The music of these teen-aged siblings of the Durham family is mainly built up by the  influence and essence of R&B, swing, jump blues, country and Western, blues, Hawaiian and rock ‘n’ roll, etc.

Kitty Durham is the youngest of the group, now she is 16, she primarily sings and plays drums, harmonica, ukulele, banjo, trombone and guitar.

Lewis Durham, now 19 is the middle child who sings and plays guitar, piano, banjo, lapsteel and drums.

Daisy Durham is the eldest, she is now 21 is the eldest she primarily sings and plays drums, piano, accordion and xylophone.

They have supported artists such as Jools Holland, Mika, Billy Bragg, Mark Ronson and Razorlight at London’s Earls Court Arena.

They toured with Coldplay around America in July and August 2009.

They also played the main stage at Bestival in 2006, 2007 and 2008 and played twice at Glastonbury in 2007 and 2008.

They have featured in Vogue and performed on Blue Peter.

The band featured in the 2008 documentary We Dreamed America about the influence of American roots music on British musicians.

They also have featured in the 2009 Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Rock Am Ring & Rock In Park in Germany. They appear in the current 2009 Dustin Hoffman / Emma Thompson film Last Chance Harvey performing “Mean Son Of A Gun”. The song is used later in a clothes store changing room scene.

Their latest  album ‘KITTY DAISY & LEWIS’ is out now on CD, 12″ LP, download and a proper 1940s style hard-back record album featuring five 10″ records which play at 78rpm (& a free CD copy of the album). It is claimed to be the first of its kind to be made in over 50 years.
