LONDON - Veteran singer Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 musical is to close on Broadway after it failed to impress audiences in New York.
The show won accolades when it was launched in Los Angeles earlier this year (09), but failed to maintain success in the Big Apple.
The play producers have announced the show will close, after 148 performances, on 6 September (09).
Parton, however, insists the show has been a big hit for her.
“I couldn’t have asked for a better experience on my first Broadway show,” the Daily Express quoted her as saying.
“I’ve had the privilege of working with an amazing group of people who have become like family to me.
“I can’t wait for this show to hit the road so people across the country can see why I’m so proud of everyone involved,” she added. (ANI)

I saw “( to 5″ a couple of months ago. I thought it was a well-performed fun show and well worth seeing. It is light and fast-paced, lively, with a great cast. Don’t miss it before it closes. It is delightful. |
