Miss Mississippi pageant 2009: review

Miss-Mississippi-Anna-Tadlock23-year-old Brandon resident Anna Tadlock  has been crowned as new Miss Mississippi 2009 in a packed auditorium at the Vicksburg Convention Center.

The competition began Wednesday with 47 contestants and was whittled down to 10 during a live telecast. The first and the second runner up were:

— Danielle Smith (First runner-up), Miss Heartland, recipient of a $7,500 scholarship.

— Rachael Shannon (Second runner-up) , Miss Deep South, recipeint of a $6,000 scholarship.

Previously Anna won two preliminaries over the pageant’s first three nights, taking the swim wear and talent competitions.

Finally Vicksburg, Miss.  Anna Tadlock got the  illegibility to compete the Miss America 2010 title as a state representative and also won a scholarship of $10,000. Miss America pageant will be held on Jan. 20 in Las Vegas.

Anna is graduatefrom Northwest Rankin High School in 2004 and Mississippi State University in 2008 with a degree in communications and public relations.  She also got the experience of working  as a recruiting director for the Spinks Group of Northwestern Mutual Financial Network. She hopes to earn a master’s degree in teaching and work as a high school and college English instructor.

Third runner-up — Kristen Benigno, Miss Southern Magnolia, recipient of a $3,500 scholarship.

Miss Mississippi is a scholarship pageant and a preliminary of Miss America. The contest began in 1934, has been held in Vicksburg since 1958, and provides more money than any other scholarship pageant in the Miss America Organizatio

Miss Misissippi’s had a record of winning the Miss America crown for four times, so let’s crossed our fingers for Anna and wish her best of luck.
