WASHINGTON - British funnyman Russell Brand is all set to host the MTV Video Music Awards in September, for the second time in a row.

The ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’ star was not a big name when he emceed the event in Las Vegas last year.

However, he created a storm of controversy by mocking The Jonas Brothers’ vow of chastity.

But his comic antics seem to have impressed MTV bosses who have asked him to host this year’s bash in New York City.

And Brand has promised that the event will be bigger and better than ever, with live performances scattered across the Big Apple.

“There’ll be performances on Brooklyn Bridge, on the park, on the edge of buildings, it’s going to be really, really exciting. And it’s all completely live,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

While announcing the news during an appearance on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show, Brand even mentioned the Jonases.

He claimed that he had resolved his differences with the teen heartthrobs, and said: “I want them to play at my wedding, which, if there’s any justice in the world, will be to one of them. One of the older ones.” (ANI)

Russell Brand is the perfect choice for host! He made the show so entertaining and interesting–it will be great to see him again. What an intelligent actor, comedian, author–an amazingly talented man! Perfect choice!
