Kevin Jonas and Danielle Deleasa get engaged

NEW YORK — The eldest Jonas brother, Kevin, and his girlfriend Danielle Deleasa (DAH’-lees-ah) were engaged Wednesday.The 21-year-old Jonas is one-third of the popular Jonas Brothers, along with Joe and Nick Jonas. A spokeswoman for the Jonas Brothers confirmed the engagement. In a statement, Kevin’s parents, Kevin Sr. and Denise Jonas, said they were “filled with joy.”

The young couple have not yet set a date. Their engagement was first reported by People magazine. People quoted Kevin Jonas as describing his girlfriend’s reaction as “yes, yes, yes like 500 times super fast in a row.”

Kevin had flown down from Vancouver (where he was performing in a concert), overnight on July 1, accompanied with the cushion-cut diamond ring (designed by him with Jacob & Co.) to pop the big question to Danielle.
The 21 year old Jonas and the 22 year old Deleasa had met in the Bahamas in May 2007, while both were on a vacation with their respective families. The two have been going steady since then. Danielle Deleasa, a former hairdresser, had admitted that she “didn’t know who the Jonas Brothers were” on the first day that she had met the trio. Nothing has been announced regarding the date and the venue of the ‘big day’ though, as reported by People Magazine.  Jonas said,”It was tough performing last night, knowing that I was going to ask the biggest question in my life to the most amazing girl in the world.”
The other two Jonas Brothers congratulated Kevin, Tweeting him with “Congrats big brother…Dani welcome to the family, we can’t wait to have you join us on the road!”
