NEW DELHI - He is one mutant you have loved, idolised and followed and grown up reading comics based on him. You’ve waited to catch a glimpse of the fictional hero in the X-Men series and now you can watch a free screening of the adamantium-clawed mutant Wolverine’s upcoming movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Starring Australian actor Hugh Jackman in the lead, as the never-ageing and self-healing mutant, the movie has already been on the US box office top spot after it raked in a massive $87 million in its opening weekend there.

Releasing in India June 19, a free screening of the movie could be caught as a part of the Black Curtain screening programme organised by social networking site MySpace for its members. The movie will be screened at Satyam Cineplex, Nehru Place, June 18.

“The idea is to provide an exciting new platform for members of MySpace to enjoy the biggest movies before anybody else in India, and for free. Users get access to the biggest and most hyped movies before they hit theatres that is while the curtains are still black apart, Hari Krishnan, country manager of MySpace India, told IANS.

Held across many countries, the concept of free screening was introduced in India in January in Mumbai, with the exhibition of multiple-Oscar winning underdog drama Slumdog Millionaire followed by that of Tom Cruise starrer Valkyrie.

Being held in the capital for the first time, it is simultaneously also taking place in Mumbai for “Wolverine…”

The social forum is also in talks with movie producers in India to screen Bollywood films.
