Jackie Shroff, Sayali Bhagat starrer Kirkit’ released in Mumbai

MUMBAI - Bollywood glitterati descended upon the premiere of forthcoming flick ‘Kirkit’, which is a satire on the business of cricket, in Mumbai city.

The film starring Jackie Shroff, Sanjay Kapoor, Gulshan Grover, Sayali Bhagat and Johny Lever, has been produced and directed by Shashi Preetam.

The film essays the story of two groups of five boys each from Mumbai and Hyderabad who are on a special ‘Holiday’ to Goa and their tryst with destiny.

According to Bollywood actor-comedian Johny Lever, the director and the producer of the film has tried to say something new in the film.

“The film is very well made and the cast is full of young boys. The director and the producer of the film Shashi sahib wants to say something new in the film. He has made the film on the current wave of the cricket which is prevalent today,” said Johny Lever.

Meeta Vasisht, who plays Koena in the film, claimed she was not nervous before the film’s release.

Bollywood actor, Sayali Bhagat who stars in the film hoped that as the people are crazy about cricket they would like the film too.

“The film ‘Kirkit’ is as spicy as the name sounds. I hope that as the people like cricket they will like this film too,” said Vasisht.

In the past, Bollywood films with sports theme-’Lagaan’ and Shahrukh Khan-starrer 2007 film ‘Chak De’have been made and received acceptance with the audience like Ashutosh Gowariker directed Lagaan and Shahrukh Khan starrer 2007 film ‘Chak De’. (ANI)
