LONDON - Rapper-turned-actress Queen Latifah has for the first time revealed that she was a victim of sexual abuse as a child.
The beauty said that a teenage babysitter preyed upon her, adding that the incident left her unable to form relationships as an adult, reports The Sun.
Latifah, 39, told Essence magazine: “He violated me.
“I never told anybody. I just buried it as deeply as I could and kept people at an arms length. I never really let a person get too close to me.
“I could have been married years ago, but I had a commitment issue.”
The 39-year-old’s work in music, film and television has earned her a Golden Globe award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Image Awards, a Grammy Award, six additional Grammy nominations, an Emmy Award nomination and an Academy Award nomination. (ANI)
