LONDON - Rapper Jay-Z has said the only way he knew to become a millionaire while growing up was through basketball.
The star admits a career in hip-hop was not something that was even on his radar when he was young and growing up in Brooklyn, and instead he concentrated on his hoop dreams, reports contactmusic.com.
“I had no plan of how I was going to arrive at this point (of becoming a millionaire) other than this very distant, outside chance of being a basketball player, which was very far because I never played in organised sports,” he said.
“Back then, that opportunity was very limiting, because rap wasn’t what is is today,” he added.
