LONDON - Brad Pitt is reportedly in secret talks to play John Lennon in a biopic.
The 47-year-old actor is said to be in negotiations to portray the late Beatle - shot dead by Mark Chapman in 1980 at the age of 40 - in a big-screen version of his life.
Brad is a huge fan of the pop legend’s music and is planning to produce the film as well as act in it.
And he has apparently won over John’s widow Yoko Ono, whom he has met to discuss the project.
Having often described himself as a method actor, Brad is planning to throw himself into the role of Lennon by mastering the Liverpudlian accent and learning to sing so he can perform John’s songs in the film.
“Brad already has a writer working on the script. And Yoko has given the project her blessing so long as it’s true to John’s life. Brad wants to do all the singing himself and plans to take voice lessons. If he can’t pull it off they’ll use John’s own voice,” the Daily Express quoted an insider as telling Day and Night.
“Brad has also been immersing himself in videos and books so he can get Lennon’s mannerisms down pat,” the insider added. (ANI)
