NEW YORK - A new ‘Biggest Loser’ contestant is said to be the most obese contender the show has ever seen, weighing at 507 pounds with a BMI of 77.1 while standing 5 feet 8 inches.
Arthur Wornum, 34, is not technically the heaviest contestant in the history of the show, but a BMI over 30 is considered obese, the New York Daily News reported.
According to The Los Angeles Times, the stay-at-home dad’s body fat ratio dwarfs that of season 9 winner Michael Ventrella, who was the heaviest contestant in the show’s history at 526 pounds at 6 feet tall.
Though he lost 140 pounds on his own, according to the NBC website, Wornum gained 200 pounds when he lost his insurance agency in 2000.
He then added on another 100 pounds after his son was born in 2007.
The NBC show offers 250,000 dollars to the contestant who loses the largest percentage of body weight at the end of the season. (ANI)
