Elton John to play concert in Moscow

Moscow, Dec 10 (IANS/RIA Novosti) British pop and rock singer Elton John will play a concert in Moscow’s Crocus City Hall Dec 12, the official website of the musician said.
“Elton John is coming with a new show, where he will play together with famous drummer Ray Cooper. They will play Elton’s old and new songs but with an accent on the drums,” Yelena Maslova from Russia’s Melnitsa company, which is organising the concert, said, adding that the show will last for two-and-a-half-hours.
Maslova said that all the tickets for the concert have been sold out and emphasized that Sir Elton John is very popular in Russia.
One of the most acclaimed pop and rock musicians, the 63-year-old Elton John was one of the first western musicians to visit the Soviet Union.
He played his first concerts in Moscow and St. Petersburg in 1979, and the last time he came to Russia with his Red Piano show in 2009. Over 145,800 people have visited Elton John’s concerts in Russia since 1979.
