NEW YORK - Actor Aaron Eckhart has revealed that his role as Harvey Dent will not be included in the next ‘Batman’ film, ‘The Dark Knight Rises’.
Eckhart, 42, said fans have been asking him if his crusading DA-turned-super villain character from the movie ‘The Dark Knight’ will make another appearance.
According to MTV News, the actor had a word with director Christopher Nolan about the fate of his character.
“Chris and I had a meeting, on the beach, just the two of us,” the New York Daily News quoted him as saying.
“I said, ‘Chris, a lot of people are asking me if I’m in the next ‘Batman’. And Chris said, ‘Yes?’ I said, ‘Am I?’ He looked at me and he said, ‘No’.
“We found ourselves alone on the beach together on a stormy day and he delivered the news to me. And I was heartbroken. I was heartbroken. But Chris has his reasons and my life must go on,” he revealed.
Despite getting tackled off a roof by Batman at the end of 2008’s ‘The Dark Knight’, Dent’s status was apparently ambiguous enough that Eckhart was still rumoured to be a part of the final film in the series, ‘The Dark Knight Rises’. (ANI)
