Men ‘reluctant to travel for love’

KUALA LUMPUR - Men prefer to date women who live near their homes, according to new findings.
And it looks like this is the reason for the low success rate of Wanita MCA Cupid Space.
Peggy Lim, who is in charge of the project, said more men were asking that their prospective dates live not more than 50km away from their homes.
“This is because many men think it is very inconvenient for them if they have to travel far, especially during festive seasons, or if the girl’s family is living in another state,” the Star Online quoted her as telling a press conference to announce the annual Cupid Space Speed Dating Hi-Tea Party here yesterday.
“There was even a guy from Klang who thought a date from Cheras would be too far for him,” she added.
The Cupid Space, set up in 2001 with the objective of encouraging more marriages among eligible Chinese, has organised 94 matchmaking activities.
However, it has a low success rate of just 7 percent in matchmaking single people. (ANI)
