LONDON - Actress Keira Knightley has been left mortified after her 1.3- million-pound flat was ransacked by burglars, who stole two personal laptops worth 2,000 pounds.
A police spokesperson confirmed the incident saying: “Officers from Westminster CID are investigating a residential burglary at the flat. It is believed to have occurred between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. on October 26.”
A forensic team from Westminster CID was dispatched to dust for any fingerprints or shoe marks left behind.
The 25-year-old is considering moving out of the London property after thieves raided her luxury apartment by entering through a faulty communal door and took the portable computers, which detectives fear might contain sensitive contents, reports contactmusic.com
“Keira is mortified to think anyone has been rummaging around her personal stuff, she feels violated and doesn’t know if she wants to return to the flat,” a source said.
When the robbery took place, the actress was in Rome for the premiere of her latest movie “Last Night”.
Police officials are now waiting for her to return, so she can list other missing items from the flat.
“Police do not think Keira, who has been stalked in the past, was targeted because of her fame,” a source said.
