HONG KONG - A movie claiming to be the world’s first 3D sex film is attracting Chinese tour groups to Hong Kong, a news report said Monday.

Six travel agents have already sought advance bookings for Chinese tourists to see the movie, “3D Sex And Zen”, which opens in 2011, according to the South China Morning Post.

Producers of the $3 million movie say it is already generating a buzz in mainland China where sex scenes and nudity are routinely censored.

Producer Stephen Shiu told the newspaper he had already been approached by six travel agents who wanted to arrange private screenings and “meet and greet” sessions with cast members.

Half of the box office takings for the sexually explicit 2007 Ang Lee film “Lust, Caution” were accounted for by tourists from China where the film was heavily censored, Shiu said.

“Hong Kong is a much freer society in terms of entertainment and publishing, so this is definitely an attraction for mainland (Chinese) tourists,” lawmaker Paul Tse said.

More than half of the 30 million visitors to Hong Kong in 2009 came from mainland China which has substantially eased cross-border travel restrictions in recent years.
