Rajat Kapoor, Neha Dhupia promote ‘Phas Gaye Re Obama’ in Mumbai

MUMBAI - Bollywood actors Rajat Kapoor and Neha Dhupia promoted their upcoming film ‘Phas Gaye Re Obama’ in Mumbai.

Written and directed by Subash Kapoor, the film is a satire on recession and US President Barack Obama’s policies.

“It’s a very dear project to all of us and I can assure you one thing that as a writer of this film, it is an out an out fun film, it’s an out and out comedy and it’s a complete entertainer. ‘Phas Gaye Re Obama’ is a film with recession as the backdrop. It’s about a guy who looses everything overnight to the recession in America and comes to India,” said Subhash Kapoor.

The star cast of the film includes Amol Gupte, Neha Dhupia, and Rajat Kapoor.

“I think if the film is fun, if it’s funny and if it’s got any meaning it is because the cast was just absolutely wonderful! Mannu, Sanjay, Amol, Neha, each one of them were brilliant,” said Rajat Kapoor.

“Sometimes when you have a good script, it does not live up to your expectations but some other times it goes beyond expectations and I think that’s something that has happened with this film,” he added.

Neha Dhupia said that she couldn’t believe the work she had done in the film.

“I’ve kind of surprised myself and I was just looking like a guy in the film that’s something that I haven’t done! And also working on an accent making myself sound like I was totally from UP (Uttar Pradesh) was a bit hard but now when I look back, I can’t believe it was me and I am like wow! It’s all because of this guy,” said Neha Dhupia.

Neha along with Rajat Kapoor unveiled the film’s poster at this event.
