Oscar-winning singer/songwriter RYAN BINGHAM was the toast of the Americana Awards on Thursday (09Sep10), picking up the night’s top honours for his CRAZY HEART music.

Bingham teamed up with T-Bone Burnett to craft the acclaimed film’s score - and the awards keep coming.

After his The Weary Kind won the Best Song honour at the Academy Awards and Golden Globes, Bingham, who coincidentally shares his name with George Clooney’s character in Up in The Air, claimed trophies for Song of the Year (The Weary Kind) and Artist of the Year at the Americana Awards in Nashville, Tennessee.

The humble 29-year-old former bull rider said, “Man, I don’t know if I really deserve this,” while accepting the coveted Artist of the Year prize.

He beat Patty Griffin, Levon Helm, Steve Earle and Ray Wylie Hubbard to the night’s top honour.

Bingham was the only multiple winner at the award show.
