KOCHI - Southern actress Meera Jasmine’s fiance, musician Mandolin U. Rajesh says it is up to the actress whether she wants to continue her work after marriage.

“She has to make that decision whether she wants to act,” said Rajesh, adding that their marriage will not be delayed anymore.

He and his brother Srinivas were in the city Monday and they appeared on a TV channel programme and shared their views.

Rajesh and Meera have been going steady for quite some time, but for the first time the musician has commented on their relationship at a public forum.

“This has become a reality and our family has supported him on his decision,” said Srinivas.

Rajesh hails from the Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh. Meera Jasmine has been the star of the Malayalam industry ever since she made her debut with “Soothradharan” in 2001.

In the last nine years, she has acted in more than 55 films and has been a runaway hit in films in other South Indian languages like Tamil, Telegu and Kannada as well.

Hailing from Thiruvalla in Pathanamthitta district, Kerala she won the National Film Award for best actress in 2004 and is a two-time recipient of the Kerala State Film Award as well as the prestigious Kalaimamani Award from the government of Tamil Nadu.

A few years back, the actress made headlines after she fell out with her parents, but later patched up with them.
