MUMBAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The monsoon has not only brought the much needed relief from heat it has also ended the dry run for Bollywood. The beginning of 2010 had not been particularly good for Bollywood with several big banner films biting the dust. However things are slowly changing with recent hits like ‘Rajneeti’ and ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ being the examples. After the success of ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai’ it seems that the Amir Khan’s latest production ‘Peepli Live‘ is set to become the next box office winner. It has got heartwarming reviews from the critics. It was screened specially for the critics before the general release and they gave it a thumb up.

Like all Amir Khan productions, ‘Peepli Live’ has a powerful and relevant content. It is a brilliant satire on the plight of the Indian farmers. The film also shows how the people in all segments of the society from the bureaucrats and politicians and mass they to exploit things whenever they can. The film has been made under the direction of debutante Anusha Rizvi. It has lesser known actors like Malaika Shenoy, Omkar Das Manikpuri, Raghuveer Yadav, Farrukh Jaffer and Nawazuddin Siddiqui among others. The director succeeds in present rig the grave problem haunting the rural interiors of the country but she does not make it a depressing or suffocating tale.

Peepli Live’ may be a little too raw for the multiplex goers who are used to enjoy sleek urban romances or candy floss love stories shot abroad. The film may not have any big names but the actors have given their best performance.
