Washington, July 23 (ANI): Movies based on life in prison have always intrigued many even though they deal with criminals.

A list of some of the best prison movies ever made shows that the movie ‘Chicago’, starring Catherine Zeta-Jones and Renee Zellweger and other beautiful women, is the ultimate women-in-prison film, Fox News reported.

Next in line is the movie ‘Hold Your Man’, starring Clark Gable and Jean Harlow, based on a story of a cynical woman and a two-faced con man ending up in an unlikely romance.

The movie ‘Caged’, which is the first big women-in-prison film, is as tragic now as it was then. It features the standard cruel matron and bullying fellow inmates.Concrete Jungle’ is a movie about an innocent girl who is wrongly imprisoned, and it features a sadistic warden, an evil Queen Bee inmate, and a drug and prostitution ring that the warden runs.

In fifth place is movie ‘Caged Heat’, whose tagline promises rape, riot and revenge, which it certainly delivers.

One of the greatest prison movies made is perhaps ‘The Shawshank Redemption’, which tells of an innocent man imprisoned, abusive guards, or a daring escape.

Other movies that made the list were ‘The Blues Brothers’, ‘Cool Hand Luke’, ‘The Great Escape’, ‘The Bridge on the River Kwai’, ‘My Cousin Vinny’, ‘Stalag 17′, ‘O Brother, Where Art Thou?’, and ‘The Green Mile’. (ANI)
