Sanjay Dutt summoned for remarks against Mayawati

BARABANKI - A local court in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki on Friday directed to the Mumbai Police Commissioner to serve summons on Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt after he failed to appear before it.
Dutt was to appear before the Barabanki Court in a case relating to alleged derogatory remarks against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati.
Directing the Mumbai Police Commissioner to serve summons on Dutt, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Arvind Mishra adjourned the case to July 29.
During run up to the 2009 general elections, addressing a rally here, Dutt the then general secretary of Samajwadi Party (SP), imitated his famous film character “Munna Bhai” and had made certain comments on Mayawati offering to give her “jadu ki jhappi”. (ANI)
