Amanda Bynes retires from acting at 24

LONDON - “She’s the Man” star Amanda Bynes, who started working at the age of seven, has decided to retire from acting at 24 because she doesn’t find her career “fun” anymore.
The young actress faced the camera for first time for a confectionery ad, reports contactmusic.com.
“I’ve never written the movies and TV shows I’ve been apart of. I’ve only acted like the characters the producers or directors wanted me to play. Being an actress isn’t as fun as it seems. If I don’t love something anymore, I stop doing it,” Bynes posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.
“I don’t love acting anymore so I’ve stopped doing it. I know 24 is a young age to retire but you heard it here first. I’ve retired,” she added.
She shot to fame after her stint on kid’s channel Nickelodeon where she was given her own skit show - “The Amanda Show”. In 2006, she starred in the teen gender-bender comedy “She’s The Man” and followed it next year with the musical “Hairspray”.
Her latest film “Easy A”, also starring Emma Stone and “Friends” actress Lisa Kudrow, is due for release in September.
