The Union Jack outfit GERI HALLIWELL wore to the 1997 Brit Awards has been named the most iconic dress of the last 50 years by a British retailer.

The former Spice Girl wowed fans with the cheeky mini and now she has fought off competition from Elizabeth Hurley and Lady GaGa, among others, to be crowned a British style icon.

The Versace safety pin dress Hurley wore to the London premiere of her then-boyfriend Hugh Grant’s movie Four Weddings and a Funeral came in second, while Marilyn Monroe’s white dress from The Seven Year Itch was voted third.

Audrey Hepburn’s fitted black dress from Breakfast at Tiffany’s came fourth, while the tiered white outfit Poker Face hitmaker GaGa wore to this year’s (10) Brits rounded out the top five in the poll by online fashion retailer, Offers Supermarket.
