Suit filed against Gemini Labs

April 30, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Producer of the big budget film, Pokkiri Raja, Mulakupadam Films, has filed a lawsuit against Gemini Labs, Cochin for postponing the film’s release on purpose.

The producer of the film, Tomichan Mulakupadam, states that Gemini Labs had refused to hand over the prints of the film, even though the work of the film was entirely complete. It thus became impossible to release the film on the 30th of April, as was planned originally.

According to Tomichan, Gemini Labs had given in to the demands of the distributors association. The film was supposed to hit theatres today. It was supposed to release in eighty centres within the state. The filmmakers have probably encountered huge losses by being unable to release the film on time.

A new release date is yet to be fixed for the film. Pokkiri Raja is one of this summer’s most eagerly awaited films.

The film stars Mammootty alongside Prithviraj. This is the first time both of them are together in a film and have major roles. Shriya Saran plays the female lead of the film. The movie is being eagerly awaited by Malayalam cinema fans because of its casting.
