Cameron didn’t win Oscar because he “didn’t have breasts”, says Weaver

NEW YORK - Sigourney Weaver has attacked Oscar voters, saying James Cameron didn’t land the Best Director Oscar gong because he “didn’t have breasts.”
Cameron lost out the Oscar to his ex-wife, “The Hurt Locker” director Kathryn Bigelow, reports The New York Post.
“Jim didn’t have breasts, and I think that was the reason,” Weaver told Brazilian news site Folha Online. “He should have taken home that Oscar.”
Weaver added, “In the past, ‘Avatar’ would have won because they [Oscar voters] loved to hand out awards to big productions, like ‘Ben-Hur.’ Today it’s fashionable to give the Oscar to a small movie that nobody saw.”
“Avatar” grossed 743.7 million dollars in the United States and 2.7 billion dollars worldwide, while “The Hurt Locker” raked in 16 million dollars in the US and just more than 40 million dollars worldwide, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com. (ANI)

I don’t think it’s fair to judge the oscar as that biased. I’m sure they have a good reason like originality and stuff like that. |
