Dempsey ‘comfortable’ With Medical Situations

PATRICK DEMPSEY’s time playing a doctor on GREY’S ANATOMY has made him so confident in medical emergencies he dishes out advice to real-life physicians.
The actor shot to global fame playing hunky Dr. Derek Shepherd on the hit U.S. medical drama.
And the jargon he picked up while shooting scenes in the show’s emergency room has transferred to his everyday life - especially when an accident occurs when partaking in his racing car hobby.
He tells Britain’s Cosmopolitan magazine, “They (doctors) sort of invite me into the fold, which is nice, or if we’re at the track and one of the drivers has had a wreck, I go into the first-aid tent with all the doctors.
“I’m very comfortable. I’m like, ‘OK, this is what they need. Run an MRI, CT, all this stuff.’ They’re like, ‘Get out of here Patrick.’ But I enjoy it. I don’t feel as uncomfortable in a hospital as I used to.”
