No Taxi Driver For Von Trier

LARS VON TRIER’s business partner has dismissed rumours the Danish director is in talks with MARTIN SCORSESE and ROBERT DE NIRO to resurrect TAXI DRIVER - blasting the reports as “rubbish.”
The new movie was rumoured to see De Niro reprise his role as troubled New York cab driver Travis Bickle in a sequel to the 1976 classic, which gained him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.
But Von Trier’s longtime producing partner Peter Aalbaek Jensen is adamant film fans shouldn’t get their hopes up.
He tells ScreenDaily.com, “I have seen it (the story) in the Danish film magazine and what is written there is not true. (It’s) rubbish.”
