KATE WINSLET is set to scoop another award for her role in THE READER - she is nominated for the Best Actress title at this year’s (09) European Film Awards (EFA).

The star has been tipped to land the coveted prize after the role won her an Academy Award earlier this year (09).
Winslet will go head-to-head with promising British newcomer Katie Jarvis, who will also compete in the Best Actress category for her acclaimed breakthrough role in Andrea Arnold’s Fish Tank.

Danny Boyle’s multi Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire is up for five honours, including Best Film, Best Director, and Best Actor for Dev Patel.

French prison movie A Prophet leads the nominations with six entries, including Best Film.
The ceremony will be held in Bochum, Germany next month (Dec09). Last year’s (08) event in Copenhagen, Denmark saw Dame Judi Dench receive a lifetime achievement award.
