JOHN TRAVOLTA is preparing to testify in court next week (beg21Sep09) against two people accused of attempting to extort millions of dollars from the star in the wake of his son’s death.

Pleasant Bridgewater and ambulance driver Tarino Lightbourne were allegedly involved in a $25 million (£17.2 million) plot to bribe Travolta and his grieving wife Kelly Preston in the hours after their teenage son Jett died in January (09).

Lightbourne allegedly conspired with former Bahamas senator Bridgewater to release a document containing information about the teenager’s death from a seizure while on a family holiday in the Bahamas.

The accused pair pleaded not guilty to the charges in April (09) and were released on bail pending a trial on Monday (21Sep09).

Pulp Fiction star Travolta is set to travel to the Bahamas to testify on behalf of the prosecution, according to TMZ.com.
