Bettany Ships Car To U.s. For London Memories

PAUL BETTANY misses living in his native England so much - he extravagantly shipped over his beloved family car to remind him of life in London.

The actor has lived in America with his wife, Jennifer Connelly, and their two sons, for the last six years and he’s been struggling to adjust to life in the U.S. ever since.

To prevent him pining for the British capital, Bettany had his ivory-coloured 1964 Volvo Amazon, which was passed on to him from his family ten years ago, shipped over to
his new Stateside home.

He says, “It was a bit extravagant. But worth it. My aunt lived in Braintree (Essex, England). She drove it to the shops a mile away about 8,000 times. And my dad didn’t
use it that much, so it’s got really low mileage and it’s in great nick (shape). And I thought, ‘If I leave it in London, it’s just going to rust away’, and I couldn’t bear the thought
of that.

“I can’t remember what it cost to ship - it was probably more than I could get selling the car - but I love the fact that it’s here. It reminds me of home, of driving around
London. I put U.S. plates on it, but it’s still a right-hand drive and they never see that in the States, so people are fascinated by it.”
