‘District 9′ tops weekend box office

WASHINGTON - ‘District 9′ has topped the weekend box office after raking in 37 million dollars.
According to studio estimates, ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra’ came second with 22.5 million dollars, reports E! Online.
‘The Time Traveler’s Wife’ landed the third spot with 19.2 million dollars ‘Julie and Julia’ stood fourth with 12.4 million dollars.
‘G-Force’ rounded off the top five with 6.9 million dollars.
The weekend’s top-grossing films are:
1. District 9, $37 million
2. G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, $22.5 million
